For those who have completed the One Day Intensive, Painting for Beginners, THE NEXT STEP is a content-rich, information-packed follow-up – a fusion of two workshops that I previously offered separately!
We re-visit the Seven Steps to creating a painting from scratch, and introduce new techniques – how to use lace and leaves to create the textural impressions often found in my work, as well as the fluid, organic swirls and lines.

So many beginners feel unsure about how to use colours in their art. Would you like to learn more about how colours work with each other, and what they mean? Colours vary in their visual impact, and specific color combinations result in very different experiences for the viewer. The Colour Wheel, tones, shades, tints and hues, the emotional impact of different colours and what colour actually is, are also covered in this mega intensive day!
If you enjoyed Painting for Beginners, but want to take things further with texture and technique, to learn more about colour and composition and to work on a bolder scale, then have a go at The Next Step. With comprehensive notes that cover all aspects of the art class, this class is brilliant for consolidating your new learnings as well as re-igniting those creative fires. All materials as well as comprehensive notes, are provided.

What they said about THE NEXT STEP…
I enormously appreciate your opening me up to painting : you are an incredibly good teacher: you’ve got it goin’ on girl! – Crispin Rapsey, teacher
The way you structured the course is fantastic not only did I learn about colour concepts but more importantly how to apply them. The final painting consolidates everything. You’re a very innovative and passionate teacher. Now I have a much more solid foundation on colour to apply to my paintings. I finished the day feeling inspired. -Dr. T Browne, Dentist
A truly inspirational and jam-packed workshop. We loved “The Next Step… It was well worth the trip – even better than the first course (if that’s possible!) – I learnt so much about mixing colours and some new techniques for texture. It was fantastic! – Peta Watson (who drove a 600km round trip to be there!)
“What a fabulous day…I came away from the day with such inner peace, what you teach comes from the soul and then transforms a painting…it has given me a gift that I will treasure forever, thank you!” –Nicole Langford
